About me

✨ If you've found your way to this page, I'll assume you'd like to know more about me, so I'll try to make it worthwhile.

I grew up in Australia when the Internet wasn't around in the way we know it today (tragic, I know). Entertainment looked a little different back then: I spent hours reading the Yellow Pages and street directories when I ran out of books (yes, this really happened), watching science fiction TV series while waiting months for the next episode (no binge-watching luxury), and bonding with friends over the mighty Amiga computer. It allowed me to meet new friends, united by our undying admiration for 16-bit glory.

Books were always part of my world. As a kid, I devoured Stephen King, J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert Heinlein, and many other authors who shaped my imagination. Later, my sci-fi influences expanded to Star Trek, and Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary (I've read it twice; yes, it's that good).

Professionally, I built a career in IT (still going strong), and spent years teaching at vocational colleges and even a university. Science and history have always been passions of mine, and now I get to explore those "what ifs" through writing.

When I'm not writing or geeking out over science and tech, you'll probably find me hunting for old vinyl records, discovering new restaurants, or falling down a rabbit hole of YouTube channels on my favourite topics.

In short, I've always been curious about the world, both the one we live in and the ones we can only imagine. Writing is my way of exploring them, and I'm glad to have you along for the journey. βœ¨
